Winter is our favourite time in the cellar. The vines are resting, the valley has drawn quiet, and the wines we have been waiting on are finally ready to pour. This month, two of them go into bottle for the very first time.
There is something honest about a red wine in winter. It asks for a fire, a slow evening and someone to share it with. Both of our new releases were made with exactly that in mind, grown on the estate and crafted in our Franschhoek cellar for the season we love most.
Freshly bottled: Merlot 2025
Our Merlot 2025 is soft, supple and generous. Plush dark-berry fruit, a rounded middle and a smooth, easy finish, it is the kind of red that welcomes everyone at the table. Approachable without being simple, it is a wine for cold nights and good conversation, poured freely and enjoyed young.
A little different: Nebbiolo 2025
Nebbiolo is a rare grape in South Africa, and one we are proud to grow. Our Nebbiolo 2025 is perfumed and elegant, with red cherry, a lift of rose, and a fine, savoury structure that unfolds slowly in the glass. It rewards a little patience and a good meal. For those who enjoy discovering something beyond the everyday, this is the one to reach for.

The new reds join old friends. Our estate Pinotage is bright and bold, all raspberry and dark berry, a wine built for the fireside.
